52 Reasons Why I Love You D.I.Y

Basically, my boyfriend and I have been arguing a little bit lately, and I just wanted to remind him how much I love him (which is a lot, by the way, in case you haven't gathered) and I came across this tutorial on  Pinterest. I just thought it would be a nice little present. And as he has been in America this past week, I could actually make it without having to be sneaky, unlike any other gift that I may want to make... However that also means this post is scheduled for about half an hour after he gets home, so he won't have seen this before he gets his present...oh yeah, I'm clever and logical like that.
This project actually has it's own website...

 1.
Start by cutting out all of your little cut outs, these are easy enough to make yourself, I did them on Picmonkey, editting an image called "Blank Canvas" (it comes in very handy).

2.
You then need to hole punch your cards, this can take quite a while, especially if you're using a little hole punch, make sure to try and get the holes in the same place.

3.
Then go around the edges of your little cut outs with double sided sticky tape. If you're using PVA glue, paint the back of the cut out with the glue and then stick it on your cards.

4.
If you're using double sided sticky tape, take off over layer of the tape (this can be a little tricky sometimes) and stick the cutouts to the cards. They should then look like this.

5.
Then you simply start writing out your list.

6.
Then thread your ribbon through the holes.
Originally I wanted to use ring binders to put them together, however I couldn't find any when I went shopping for them, I then had my dad bring over some wire, but that didn't look as good, and actually I think the ribbon looks really sweet.

And voila, you are done.
(I've made a little box for mine out of black card, which was easy enough, just make sure you still have some doubled sided sticky tape left.)
I'm really proud of this, I hope Dan likes it.
(I told him I was making him a present, and he was trying to get me to tell him what it is, but that would just ruin it!)

But anyway, my boyfriend is now back from America, so I'm busy having a very big cuddle and probably crying into his shoulder because I've missed him so much!

So remember, each day, live a little, laugh a little and love a little.

Toile De Jouy Inspiration

Ever since a little trip my Mum and I had to IKEA and I spotted some lovely Toile De Jouy bed sheets, I have been in love with the design. So she bought me a single cover for when I go to Uni. However, because I've moved in with my boyfriend, there isn't much need for a single sheet, but he did say that once I moved in I could have some pretty toile de jouy sheets for our bed, isn't he lovely, he's letting me make it all girly!
I love the design so much that I thought I would search the Pinterst world and find some gorgeous inspiration photos.
So enjoy...

Awwww,
I just love them.
I can't wait to make it all pretty.
Luckily quite a few shops are now doing that design for bedsheets, because neither of us drive and we can't exactly walk to our "local" IKEA. They just do them cheapest, as far as I've seen anyway.

Earring Holder D.I.Y

This is a DIY that I did last summer, but shortly after putting the photos on to my laptop and deleting them off of my camera, my laptop decided to die, so yeah... But nearly a year later I am finally posting it, hurray!
Now as some of you have probably gathered I like jewellery, really like jewellery, which is sad when my random little cute earrings get lost, but over time I have collected some rather lovely dangley earrings, so why not display them? Also it makes it a lot easier to just grab a pair in the morning when I'm in a rush!
So here is my:
Earring Holder D.I.Y

Before you start you will have to remove the glass and the backing panel (you aren't going to need them).

1.
Start by painting your frame, it doesn't have to be white, but I thought it would be a nice contrast to my black lace (it took me ages to find a frame like this that wasn't stupidly expensive)!

2.
You'll probably have to give it a couple of coats of paint to make sure it is completely white and to hide any brush marks (they are more obvious on the lower levels).

3.
Once it's all painted and dried, turn it over and place your lace over the top and cut it to the right size, make sure you leave enough lace at the edge of the open space to stick down the lace.

4.
Put a line of super glue/double sided sticky tape around the entire frame, making sure the lace will reach it when it's stuck down. (I used double sided sticky tape at first, and I would recommend the super glue; it will hold it a lot better, the tape may give way under the weight of the earrings, just be careful not to get the glue on your fingers).

5.
Let the glue dry and voila! You are done!

Doesn't it look pretty?!
(Yes, that is a beer bottle- I like bottles).

This is obviously a rather easy D.I.Y, but it can take a while, mostly because you are literally waiting for paint to dry! You could always sit out in the garden on a nice sunny day and do it, it might speed up the process a little.
